The media is scaring me and I have no idea how to get the best deal on mortgages. I’m scared to give out my social security number because lenders checking it too many times lowers my score. And giving my info out online where they have 3-4 lenders give you quotes it might hurt my credit score.

Whats the best company to get a mortgage from? Bank Of America? But they are in trouble right now right? My local bank, which only serves my county? But aren’t they too small to give the lowest rates?

I’m very confused and really need help. I’m very skeptical about anyone help me because of all the recent problems. I imagine I’m the average first time homebuyer in America….
